Cookie Policy

Effective Date: 09/02/2026
Last Updated: 09/02/2026

This policy explains how Chabad Shidduch Advocates uses cookies and similar technologies on our website. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

1. What Cookies Are

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit. It lets the site remember things between page loads, such as whether you have already submitted a form or which settings you selected.

Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and small tracking pixels. We use the word “cookies” throughout this policy to cover all of them.

Cookies set by our own website are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by an outside service running on our pages are called third-party cookies.

2. Our Approach

We keep this minimal. CSA is a not-for-profit organization, not an advertising business, and we have no interest in following you around the internet.

We do not use advertising cookies. We do not use retargeting or remarketing pixels. We do not sell or share cookie data with advertisers or data brokers.

The cookies on our site fall into three groups: those required for the website to function, those that protect our submission form from automated abuse, and those that tell us in aggregate how the site is being used.

3. Cookies We Use

Strictly necessary

These make the website function and are set by our WordPress platform. They cannot be switched off through our site, because without them pages may not load or forms may not submit correctly.

Security and form protection

We use Google reCAPTCHA on our submission form. It helps us tell real visitors apart from automated traffic, which is what keeps the form usable and protects the sensitive information sent through it.

CookieSet byPurposeDuration
_GRECAPTCHAGoogleDistinguishes human visitors from bots and filters automated form submissionsApproximately 6 months

Google’s use of information collected through reCAPTCHA is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and Google Terms of Service.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and move through our site so we can improve it. The information is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally, and it is never connected to a candidate profile.

CookieSet byPurposeDuration
_gaGoogle AnalyticsDistinguishes one visitor from another so visits can be counted2 years
_ga_[container ID]Google AnalyticsMaintains session state for reporting2 years

You can opt out of Google Analytics on every website you visit by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We also use Google Search Console to monitor how our pages appear in search results. Search Console does not place cookies on your device and does not collect personal information about visitors.

4. Cookies and Your Profile Submission

Cookies are separate from the information you send us through our form. Submitting a profile, uploading a resume, or emailing us puts information into our hands directly, and how we handle that is covered by our Privacy Policy, not this one.

Blocking cookies will not remove a profile you have already submitted. To withdraw a profile, email us.

5. How to Control Cookies

You can manage cookies directly in your browser, where you can block them, delete existing ones, or ask to be warned before any are set. Instructions are published by each browser maker: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge.

Blocking analytics cookies will not affect your experience of our site in any way. Blocking reCAPTCHA or strictly necessary cookies may prevent our submission form from working, so if the form stops loading, cookie settings are the first thing to check.

6. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track

We honor Global Privacy Control signals sent by your browser or extension. You can learn more at globalprivacycontrol.org.

Browsers also offer a Do Not Track setting, but no common industry standard exists for responding to it. Since we do not run advertising or cross-site tracking, there is nothing on our site for it to switch off.

7. Changes to This Policy

We will update this policy if the technologies on our site change. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision, and we suggest checking back occasionally.

8. Contact

Questions about cookies or anything else on this page are welcome.
