Terms of Use
Effective Date: 09/02/2026
Last Updated: 09/02/2026
These Terms govern your use of the Chabad Shidduch Advocates website and services. By submitting a profile, contacting us, or participating in either of our programs, you agree to them.
If you do not agree, please do not submit information to us.
1. What CSA Is
Chabad Shidduch Advocates is a volunteer-driven not-for-profit organization. We provide personal guidance, collaborative match-idea generation, and dating support to Chabad singles, free of charge, working alongside candidates, parents, and shadchanim.
We offer two programs. The 1:1 Advocacy Program pairs a candidate with a dedicated advocate and has limited capacity. The Network Program provides database inclusion, filtered match-idea review, group coaching, and group Q&A sessions to a broader group. Both open the same door to thoughtful ideas.
2. What CSA Is Not
We want to be clear about our boundaries, because clarity here protects everyone.
CSA does not replace shadchanim. We support them, and we welcome their collaboration.
CSA does not provide professional counseling, therapy, psychological assessment, medical advice, financial advice, or legal advice. Our advocates and coaches are not acting as licensed professionals, and nothing said in a coaching session, a check-in, or a Q&A should be treated as clinical or professional guidance. If you need that kind of help, please seek it from a qualified professional.
CSA does not provide rabbinic rulings. Questions of halacha belong with your rav.
CSA does not conduct background checks, criminal record searches, credit checks, or identity verification on candidates. We do not independently verify the accuracy of what people tell us about themselves or about others. Section 7 explains what that means for you.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use our services or to submit information to us. Candidate profiles must be for individuals aged 18 or over.
By using our services, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.
4. No Fee, and No Guarantee
Our services are provided completely free of charge. There is no fee, no commission, no success payment, and no obligation of any kind if a match we suggest leads to an engagement or marriage.
Because we ask nothing of you, we also promise nothing in return. We cannot guarantee that you will be matched, that you will be offered a specific number of ideas, that any idea will lead to a date, or that any date will lead anywhere further.
Capacity in the 1:1 Advocacy Program is limited. Placement is at our discretion and is not guaranteed to anyone, and being placed does not entitle you to a particular volume or frequency of contact.
We may pause, change, or discontinue either program at any time.
5. Your Responsibilities
Accuracy
Provide information that is true, current, and complete. Shidduchim depend on honest representation. Material misrepresentation about age, marital status, health, background, or observance harms the person on the other side of the idea, and it is grounds for us to end our work with you.
Please tell us when things change, including if you become engaged, enter an exclusive relationship, or wish to pause.
Submitting information about others
Our form invites you to submit the profile of an eligible man or woman. When you do, you represent that you have that person’s permission, or that you are a parent or immediate family member acting in a way that person would reasonably expect and accept.
Do not submit a profile to pressure, expose, or embarrass anyone. Do not submit information you obtained in confidence from a third party without permission to pass it along.
Confidentiality runs both ways
This is important. When we share a profile or match idea with you, whether you are a candidate, a parent, or a shadchan, that information is shared in confidence for the purpose of evaluating that specific idea.
You agree not to forward, republish, post, screenshot, or circulate profiles, photographs, resumes, or details we share with you. Do not add them to group chats, lists, channels, or distribution networks. Do not use them for any purpose other than considering the idea presented.
A single forwarded profile can undo years of a person’s trust in the process. Please treat what you receive the way you would want your own information treated.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use our website or services to submit false, fraudulent, or deliberately misleading information; to harass, stalk, defame, or intimidate anyone; to solicit candidates for commercial purposes; to scrape, harvest, or compile our data; to attempt unauthorized access to our systems; to introduce malware or attempt to disrupt our infrastructure; to test or probe our security without written permission; or to violate any applicable law.
We may decline to work with anyone, remove any profile, and refuse any submission, at our sole discretion and without stating a reason.
7. Introductions Are Yours to Evaluate
When we suggest an idea, we are offering a possibility, not a recommendation, endorsement, or vouching for anyone’s character, honesty, suitability, or safety.
You are responsible for your own due diligence. Speak to references. Consult your parents, your rav, and people who know the family. Ask the questions you need answered. Meet in appropriate settings and use your judgment.
CSA is not a party to any relationship, date, engagement, or marriage that follows from an introduction, and we are not responsible for the conduct of any candidate, parent, shadchan, or third party, whether online or in person.
8. File Uploads
Our submission form accepts PDF, JPG, JPEG, and PNG files only. Files must be within the size limit shown on the form.
You agree not to upload files containing malware, scripts, embedded executables, or any code intended to compromise our systems or anyone else’s. Any file we identify as harmful is deleted without being opened.
By uploading a file, you grant CSA permission to store it, review it, and share its contents with our advocates and with parties to a specific match idea, consistent with our Privacy Policy. You retain ownership of your content. You confirm you have the right to share whatever you upload, including any photographs of other people.
9. Our Content
The CSA name, our website content, our written materials, coaching content, and our organizational branding belong to Chabad Shidduch Advocates and are protected by copyright and trademark law.
You may read and share our public pages. You may not copy our content for another organization’s use, present our materials as your own, or use our name or marks in a way that suggests affiliation or endorsement we have not given.
10. Links to Other Sites
Our website may link to third-party sites and resources. We do not control them, we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
Our website and services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CSA disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that our website will be uninterrupted, secure, or error free, that information provided by candidates or third parties is accurate, or that any outcome will result from participating in our programs.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CSA, its advocates, volunteers, directors, and representatives will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, or for loss of data, reputation, or emotional distress, arising from your use of our website or services.
This includes, without limitation, damages arising from a match idea, an introduction, a date, a relationship, the conduct or misrepresentation of any candidate or third party, the disclosure of information by someone we shared it with, or any interruption or failure of our website.
Because our services are provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CSA and its advocates, volunteers, and representatives from any claim, loss, liability, or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your breach of these Terms, your submission of inaccurate information, your submission of another person’s information without authority, your disclosure of information we shared with you in confidence, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
14. Withdrawal and Termination
You may withdraw at any time by emailing us. We will remove your profile from active review and, on request, delete it.
We may end our work with you or remove a profile at any time, including where information proves materially inaccurate, where conduct toward a candidate, advocate, or shadchan is inappropriate, where confidentiality has been breached, or where continuing would not serve the people we are here to help.
Sections 5, 7, 9, 11, 12, and 13 survive termination.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
Before filing anything, please contact us. We are a small organization run by volunteers, and almost every concern can be resolved by talking it through.
16. General
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, are the entire agreement between us regarding your use of our services.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continuing to use our services after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
